Every closet and drawer has been gone through but the biggest mess was our attic. It's huge and was packed with stuff (including boxes of videotapes!) mainly from our three grown children. Our garage is now filled junk waiting for the dumpster to come this week and all of the real treasures are repacked away in neat plastic bins. It feels so good to let it all go and my family and I have had some nice moments remembering happy times. Good luck, it can be done!Kristenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01175921037585169420noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5157095593736922566.post-70893705847488028162015-11-08T20:43:53.559-05:002015-11-08T20:43:53.559-05:00I think your earrings are a fantastic start. I have one ,well two, ok ok three of those and they are all in my basement studio. Not only do I make jewellery I also do paper crafts . Torches and open flames DO NOT go well with paper. My naughty space is my jewellery making area so I am using my paper crafting area to make my jewellery in.
Will the prospect of a lovely clean working space make me clean it up? I think I am past the point of no return. I spend more time cleaning than creating and yet it never seems to get finished. Time for an intervention. lol Maybe the CLEAN SWEEP crew could help .
Deb Fortinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10100894645677484244noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5157095593736922566.post-2397274651538598432015-11-08T10:00:05.684-05:002015-11-08T10:00:05.684-05:00I actually took my dinning room for my workspace. ...I actually took my dinning room for my workspace. Setting it up required clearing out books and magazine (including my collection of old Gourmet magazines) and other bits and bobs we didn't want to store in the shed. It's a work in progress, but the worth the effort to have my own space. The shed is a huge building with an upper-level that would make a great work space, but would require significant amounts of time and money to make it habitable and squirrel-free. Good luck cleaning out your naughty hole. So refreshingly minimalist but with color!
I love the term 'Naughty Hole'. Would having a new workspace help me clean up my naughty hole? Absolutely! Unfortunately, our naughty hole is filled with stuff from my family of 5 - so I can't be the only one to decide what stays and what goes.Denisehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01496707897087919223noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5157095593736922566.post-60175370333570152092015-11-06T20:31:43.243-05:002015-11-06T20:31:43.243-05:00Do it. I have moved several times in the last two decades, and while it 100% sucks to make all those decisions about every little thing, the end result of de-hoarding is the most wonderful feeling of freedom and lightness. And then you are treated with the reward of a wonderful new workspace to fill up and organize!

My naughty hole surely has some stuff ripe for chucking, but I'll have to move again before I deal with it. The VHS and cassette tapes I will never use again... My high school art... The fancy dishes of my grandmother's that I will never get rid of, nor will I ever take them out of their boxes... We have a studio apartment (or what we call a bungalow here down under) that is variously our spare room for when the inlaws come to visit, the library and the depository or all sorts of crap -- all the stuff I don't like to store in the shed. Not many beads at the moment but I am contemplating how best to set up a metalwork (and enamel!!) workstation. In the meantime, I am also trying to set up my beads and stuff in a more efficient way inside the house, where I do most of my beading. Sigh. I understand your pain!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
