Be sure to use a good strong lacquer to protect those finishes, especially if they will be handled often or outdoors.Lorennoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5157095593736922566.post-79263335918592258662009-10-09T12:38:00.570-04:002009-10-09T12:38:00.570-04:00Another cheap and awesome way to patina brass and ...Another cheap and awesome way to patina brass and copper is to put in a Ziploc bag with a cotton ball or piece of felt soaked in household ammonia. Keep an eye on your project because the transformation is quick (sometimes as fast as 5 minutes). Don't leave fine gauges of wire in for too long or they will become brittle. Copper turns a dark color at first but then will turn green if left longer. Rinse off with water to stop process and seal with Preserve your Memories II to protect the finish and keep it from continuing to age.Cindy Lietz, Polymer Clay Tutorhttp://www.beadsandbeading.com/blog/creative-picture-frames-polymer-clay-faux-raku/6099/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5157095593736922566.post-62881109817789794222009-10-07T02:38:05.773-04:002009-10-07T02:38:05.773-04:00FunkyMonkey Girls.
