"Life is like riding a bicycle - in order to keep your balance, you must keep moving."
~Albert Einstein
Our challenge this month is a lovely art nouveau advertising poster with a serene woman with flowing tresses among the lilies. I have always loved art nouveau style. And the advertisements were so much more intriguing than they are today. Would you have known this was for a bicycle company if it didn't say it on there? There is an interesting palette of browns and yellows and white and black and greens. This is not my normal palette so I knew that I needed to find things that suited it. I am also drawn to fonts and logos and this is a great one! Also, there are some really intriguing motifs, from the bicycle that is barely visible behind her, the ever-present flowers and the crescent moon just peeking above the horizon. There is so much to choose from.
Keeping your creativity moving, I have rounded up some inspiratin on Etsy that fits the August challenge painting. Don't forget to enter your creation in the
Flickr group, and if you post on your blog about it be sure to include the
exact link to the blog post to be included in our end of the month blog tour.

These seem to have sold out. But you can find more lovelies at Barbara's shop, Floridity on Etsy. |
Will your creation be inspired by the color palette? the image? the motifs? the lettering?
What is it you see in this month's challenge that makes you want to sit up and take notice?
We can't wait to see where your inspiration takes you!
