Each Monday we feature the Designer of the Week. One of our editors pick their favorite from the Monthly Challenge entries.
This week I picked Andrew Thornton's Kandinsky inspired neckace. Andrew created shrink film plastic links with images from the painting, they are modern and understated. The necklace is perfectly complimented by ceramic art beads and a shibuichi toggle. I love that Andrew was able to feature art beads from three different artists into his design. Oh, THANK YOU so much for featuring my work! I definitely think that designing with art beads is the way to go. There is so much more soul and depth to pieces that have been envisioned and brought forth from an artist.
Thanks again! You all are just GREAT!
Wow, Andrew's design is stunning.

I saw this on Andrew's blog and was amazed! These shrink film plastic links are just the coolest thing!

Very nice!
Es precioso y muy original el collar, mucho éxito.
Yeah! Go Andrew!
There's is something so satisfying about making your own beads.
I think that's the best use of shrink film I've seen. Andrew is, as usual, innnovative and stylish. Good job Andrew.
What fun! I think that Andrew really hit the nail on the head with this one! I love that he made the "beads" himself...and out of somehting we might otherwise overlook. Great job, Andrew! Enjoy the day! Erin
