Happy Sunday ABS-ers! We're are the start of a new month - and that means a new theme. August's theme is people beads - dolls, body parts, faces etc......
I wanted to kick off this theme by sharing one of my very favourite bead artists with you. Sally Sutherland of Soul Silver makes the most gorgeous lampwork beads you can imagine - and she specialises in these beautiful wee dolls, fairies and angels. Aren't they simply gorgeous?
We've yet to have a share of any 'people' jewellery, so I thought I would share a design of mine that was featured a few months ago in Beads and Beyond magazine, which showcases one of Sally's lovely 'Storybook Dolls', along with polymer work from Heather Millican and Amanda Davie, ceramic beads from Bo Hulley, and a lampwork flower from Gardanne.
If you have any jewellery designs featuring beads that fit with our monthly theme, then please do share you links in the comments! I would love to share your work.
And now for the Bead Blogger Links. Have a great day!

Aren't these clever, Rebecca! I must admit I haven't used doll beads in jewellery, but I did make dolls in a previous life. Though with gorgeous beads such as Sally's, I am certainly tempted... her "bunny girl" is adorable!
These doll beads are great! I like the fact they are so unique looking!
I just acquired my first lost girl doll from Sally last month. She's dressed in blue paisley with dark tresses not unlike myself (is it odd to by a bead that looks like you!?). I haven't made anything as lovely as you necklace but I'm totally inspired to try my own polymer dolls but with a surprise twist. We shall see if I can pull it off this month! Thanks for the push!
So so so excited to see such awesome art! It's multicultural!!! Yes, finally, I'm so pleased you shared Sally's brilliant work. So pleased that the world of diversity is now moving from margin to center! Bravo for your excellent "Show Me Sunday" post, Rebecca of Songbead :)
I've used several of Sally's lovely doll beads in different creations, and I've enjoyed creating every single one! There seems to be no end to design possibilities with these beautiful beads. "People beads" is certainly an interesting theme, and I'm really interested to see what other "people" themed beads and designs are out there =) Here is a link to some of my "Gorgeous Girls" - https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.683119125047889.1073741835.313852325307906&type=3
I have designed several pieces with Sally's lovely, whimsical creations.
She is so creative - there is a doll for any occasion, and to suit just about anyone, it seems to me!
I'm really interested to see what other beads and designs related to the "people beads" theme.
Here is a link to my own designs with Sally's "Gorgeous Girls"!
