Welcome to Studio Saturday! Each week one of our contributors gives you a sneak peek into their studio, creative process or inspirations. We ask a related question of our readers and hope you'll leave comments! As an incentive we offer a free prize each week to bribe you to use that keyboard. The following week we choose a random winner. This week's winner is suzann wilson ! Please send your postal address to the ABS Suggestion Box to receive your Pinwheel Flower Pendant from Jennifer at Jangles.
My last Studio Saturday was at the end of May. I was preparing and showing at 2 major events. I have also been recovering from surgery. I am doing great and nearly back to normal. What ever normal is!
Above is the Needle Minder that had shown in my last Studio Saturday post in the greenware stage.
They are now glazed and the colors turned out great. Brighter than my photo shows (I'm battling with my digital camera). The needle minder is two sided with earth magnets embedded in each clay side. They are used by stitchers on either side of the canvas, quilt, etc. These keep track of your pins and needles so they don't end up on the floor or on your chair.
Depending on your mood you can have have the three dimensional sun looking up at you or the sun/moon glowingly staring at you. Of course these can be make as buttons with a shank back or loop(s) on top for a pendant. These are not listed on my website yet but email me if you would like to order.
"Blue Moon", "Moondance", "Don't let the Sun Go Down on Me"...
My question for today's Studio Saturday is:
What Sun or Moon Song is your favorite or inspires you?
There is always a song playing in my head when I'm working. Sometimes it helps me get through the day while I'm working.
One random commenter will win the Three Dimensional Sun shown above on the left as shank back button. It would look great on your handmade bag or new winter coat!

My favorite song is "Moondance" by Van Morrison. I was going to embed it into the post so it would be in your head all day....but time and technology got away from me.
I know that this my date me, but my favorite song is the Age of Aquaraius. I love to dance to that.
That purple sun/moon pendant is gorgeous! My fave moon song would be Moon River! :) I love that!
oh, my favorite sun song is Blister in the Sun by the Violent Femmes. Now I'm going to have to go listen to them!
Love the pin holder, what a unique way to showcase your work.
Pin holder, what a great idea!
I love this song about waiting for sunbeams by the Mamas and Papas:
Sweet dreams til sun beams find you
sweet dreams that leave our worries behind you.
But in your dreams
whatever they be
dream a little dream of me.
Blue Moon, by Richard Rogers and
L. Hart in 1934.
Tari, I'm with you. The song question was an immediate toss-up ~ Either "Moondance" Van Morrison (any time) or "Harvest Moon" Neil Young (especially with harvest time approaching). I sew as well, so I really like the needle catcher, I always wanted one but they were just plain plastic, now this is a bit more enticing. Great idea!
I love this old song...(And its way older than I am...lol)
I ONLY HAVE EYES FOR YOU
Are the stars out tonight?
I don’t know if it’s cloudy or bright
’cause I only have eyes for you, dear
My love must be some kind of blind love
I don’t see anybody but you
The moon may be high
But I can’t see a thing in the sky
’cause I only have eyes for you.
The pin holder is great.

Love them...favor the sun/moon. Beautiful!
I finally got the findings that I ordered to finish the wordy earrings that I wanted to make for the August Challenge and thought that I'd pop over and take a look around. All of a sudden, I've got a bunch of sun and moon songs battling for top position in my head...
"I'll Follow the Sun" and "Moonshadow" are vying for top billing. There are so many great sun and moon songs.
Can't wait to see you, Teri, at Wool Gathering.
Pin holder...wonder if it would hold headpins for when I am doing a bunch of earrings or dangles? Hmmm...Love the combination of colors!
Some of my favorite Sun/Moon songs:
Here Comes The Sun - The Beatles
Walking on Sunshine - Katrina and the Waves
These songs always make me smile!

Thank you all for your comments! Great song choices! Now you can go bopping around your studios with sun or moon sounds playing in your heads all day...hehe.
SS headpins will not stick to the magnets...sorry.
Countdown to The Wool Gathering in Yellow Springs, OH-Sep. 20&21
I have the outside corner spot this year! Yeah, they listened to my request!
The two songs that immediately come to mind are Moon River and Sunshine on My Shoulders by John Denver.
The magnets are great. Hope your show goes well.

Moonlight Madness
Sun, Moon, Star--all favorite images! Love the needle catcher and would love it even more as a pendant so I could sring it!
"Carolina in my Mind" by James Taylor, has lots of references to sun and moon, and a line in it: "Karen she's a silver sun..."--that's ME and I love the song even more for that reason! That would be my fav sun/moon song :-D
Great work, Tari, as alwsays!
Wow, the needle minder is great! Wonderful colors.
I love old time bluegrass so I'd have to say "You are my sunshine"!
I have to go with Van Morrison's Moon Dance, it's my all time fave. I love your work Tari. I know Robin who made the bead embroidered cuff around your Persephone bead. I hope to get a Nyx or Selene bead soon so I can do my own cuff. Bead Well! Lee
All I can say about your latest design is WOW! I collect the moon faces and yours is gorgeous.
As far as the song, it would have to be HERE COMES THE SUN.
Thank you everyone for the wonderful comments! Love the song choices too!
Lee, I'm working on Robin's order along with 4 others. She and her daughter were a hoot at TNNA this year! Thank goodness the kids went back to school today! Maybe I can get something done!
OOOOOooooooo I need a needle holder! :) What a great idea!
My all time favorite song is "Dancing In The Moonlight" Its the song that makes me instantly happy and motivates me. I also use it on my opening page on my myspace! ...saks_designs
