Celebrating art beads, inspiring those who use them.

I first discovered Roman glass during the Bead Cruise 2 years ago. It was featured in a jewelry line in the gift shop on the ship and I was smitten. But it was out of my budget at the time. I do remember going back down to the shop to swoon over it a few times before the cruise ended.

Howdy y'all,
Okay, this one was taken for the flowery design, not so much the color
So where do you find inspiration? Let me know and you could win this Jangles Bead.

Autumn Cascade by ABS Editor, Heather Powers:
An Art Noveau-Inspired Pendant free project from ABS Editor, Cindy Gimbrone:

String a crimp bead and a charm unto the beading wire. String the wire back through the crimp bead and flatten* the crimp. String on one bead. Leave a space on the wire by holding it and string on a crimp, flatten, add a bead or two. Repeat this until the desired length. Add a crimp, string through an earwire hook, back through the crimp. Flatten the crimp and trim the wire.

Need a little inspiration for this month's challenge based on the cave paintings from the Lascaux Cave? Here are a few of my picks, enjoy the eye candy! Click on the links to go directly to the items listed below.

If you're working with metal there are a few tools that come in handy. Frequently I need a hole in a piece of metal, whether it's a bezel I'm going to sew or a disk to hang as a charm. These hole punching pliers from Contenti come in handy so I don't have to break out the drill. (Thank you, Contenti for allowing us to borrow your pictures shown below.)

And the last one, I'm calling the "The Way of the Dodo". This one has one of my new eggs, a brass feather, stones, lotus pod beads and a little brass nest. Kinda' Flinestoney, eh? I have filled up 1/2 the table with my new creations. Now to pull out that camera!
So, how are your entries for this month going? Finished one, have one on your desk? Scratching your head at this months' theme? Let me know in the comments section and one lucky winner will receive one of my new eggs. Happy Creating!

I have been dreaming up all sorts of ideas using these fun flexible beads that Mallory Hoffman had used with one of my Jangles beads back in March. I fell in love with the bracelet and the flexible beads. The company is called Bead Me a Story and the artist is Mary Soucy. She has all colors of tubes and rings. Check out here website for loads of ideas using the beads.
