I'm heading out on vacation. The day this post goes live I'll be relaxing with my Mom, two sisters and my niece in Florida. We're heading to a favorite spot of ours on the Gulf of Mexico. As I prepared for this trip I wanted a pendant to wear that captured the turquoisey, blues and greens of the beautiful Gulf waters. I'd say I leaned more toward the blues but I can't help myself as blue is my favorite color.
It's been difficult for me to find a substantial amount of time in the studio these days. When I have been able to carve out time I'm finding myself drawn toward the torch and working with glass. I spent the earlier part of this year working in metal and now I find the glass is calling me back.
I love simple, statement jewelry which usually consists of an art bead as a pendant hanging from a silver chain. Lentil shaped beads make me happy.
Lentil shaped beads make perfect focal beads.
I'm enjoying the swirls and visual textures achieved within these beads. Although the beads themselves are smooth.
I tried to mix it up a bit by combining turquoise with a lime green. I don't think the colors photographed well. It's much more vibrant in real life.
Here's my collection of turquoisey, blue jewerly I'll be wearing beach side!

I'd love to know the answer to this question. Do you have a favorite color that you use in your jewelry designs?
Thanks for stopping by ABS today!

I envy your ability to create metal and glass pieces! Your beads are gorgeous. I would love to win one and create with it.
Love those lentils!
Loving these beads.
For designing, I'm pretty eclectic in my colors. For wearing, pink and blue are my favorites.
Not sure if this went through already. Turquoise (not always the gemstone) or teal.
Gorgeous lentils! Love the colors as my fave color to use is turquoise! Enjoy your vaca in FL.
Beautiful beads. Love the lentils as well.
I am drawn to purple and green together and also blue and orange. Even my metal patinas are more purple and purple/red. Gorgeous on heavily textured or formfolded pieces.
Enjoy the Gulf...it's snowing here in Ohio. Ack!
Emma your beads are gorgeous. I am a blue person also. I tend to favor the aqua, teal, turquoise side of blue. I would be honored to use one of your beautiful. beads in a design of mine. Thanx for the chance to win one. Enjoy your vacation.
I seem to gravitate to teals and purples. It's funny because I adore red, and because I wear a lot of grey I have to be careful that I don't make my pieces too muted. I think the teals and aqua and turquoises make me think of the ocean and if I could I would probably live on the ocean.
Before I started making jewelry I would have said my favorite colour was red but when designing I find myself drawn towards blue and purple. Beautiful beads, Ema!
I'm inclined towards purple, green, turquoise... maybe TOO inclined :-) I try to challenge myself with new colors lately.

I love blue, green and turquoise! I have to remind myself that I don't need any more beads, fibers, ribbons, art supplies, etc. in those colors. I love the lentil shape, perfect for bracelets.
Gorgeous beads! Living on the gulf, you have captured it perfectly! I live about half way down the state on the Gulf of Mexico.
I tend to use purples and aqua unless I am in a challenge.
Would love one your beads!
Great beads! I don't have one FAVORITE color, but I do really like olive green and rusty reds/browns, and probably use those colors more than any other. Least favorite--fire engine red.
red. i make everything red. your beads are gorgeous!
