For my ornament I grabbed a lesson from my new book and created an evergreen design using my metal sketch technique to hammer the design of pine tree branches. I sketched my design on copper and added a green patina. I then decided to grab some Vintaj patinas to white-wash the branches for a snowy effect.

So this is a party and that means we should definitely play a game, don't you think?
My question: What has been your favorite handcrafted gift that you've created?
For me? It's creating jewelry for my girls each year to add to their stockings, I match up the jewelry to a new outfit that they will find under the tree. It's a Humblebeads family tradition that is right up there with new jammies on Christmas eve.

The snowflake beads are so pretty and the snowy pine branches look so real! The ornament is very artful and beautiful! My favorite handcrafted gifts were my first ever - decoupaged Christmas Styrofoam balls - just because my friends did not expect it and the look on their faces was priceless :)
Your copper ornament looks great with the snowflake coin bead and the lamp work glass bead! I would love to have a set of the snowflake coin beads to use. Thank you for the opportunity.
Got so excited about the snowflake coin beads (I haven't seen snow in decades!) that I forgot to tell you about my favorite handcrafted gift that I created. It was actually 18 gifts for my mother and 17 aunts! I created heart brooches using antique pearl buttons accented with beads.
I love the way you have used paints and inks to achieve softness over the metal - its beautiful
My favorite handcrafted gift was the year I made felted hats for the entire family and they were all wearing them christmas morning. Love the look of the pine branches on your ornament!
Such a beautiful ornament: I love snowflakes and yours is simply gorgeous.
My favourite handcrafted gifts - hmm... that's hard to choose. Probably the pendants I do every year for a few good friends of mine; figuring out a theme and then making them is always fun. Card-making is another favourite one, however I seem to make them and then forget to send them out in time! LOL
Your ornament is beautiful, I love the combination of the copper with the snowflake bead! I used to make Christmas cards with the children each year...we'd do things like fingerprint robins and handprint reindeers...it was quite a production line, but friends and family were delighted with them!
I made polymer clay owl ornaments a few years ago from the directions you posted on your blog. I gave them to my family and friends and it is very special when I notice them on their Christmas trees. I also make my daughter's holiday party jewelry for her. I love doing that.
Heather your ornament is wonderful The copper is perfect with your lovely snowflake bead. It is our family tradition to make ornaments each year that started back in the early 1980's.We have used turned wood, seashells, buttons, beads, embroidery, and much more. This year I made fused glass ornaments for my family. My favorite though would have to be the ornament that I made for Lori Anderson two years ago for an online ornament exchange.
Love the ornaments blog hop. Great idea. Wish I had been able to participate but maybe next year. I have made at least one handcrafted gift every Christmas. My very favourite though would be one I made 18 years ago when my daughter was a toddler. It was a sweet little pinafore style dress with a happy snowman front and centre on top of a deep blue fabric covered in snowflakes, and trimmed out with red plaid bows. I made a matching dress for her favourite doll too. Because I had made it a little large she was able to wear it for several years. Every time she put on her dress, it was time to dress up that beloved doll in the matching dress. Not only a favourite handcrafted gift but also a favourite memory.
Thanks for bringing the memory back.

I like your ornament, very unusual.
My favorite handcrafted gift was the rosary that I made for my mother.

Love the ornament Heather, soft & wintery! I missed the hop (work has had the best of me the past couple of years), perhaps I'll pay enough attention next year to be able to join in!
