Studio Saturday with Cindy Gimbrone - Feeling Refreshed!

Welcome to Studio Saturday! Each week one of our contributors gives you a sneak peek into their studio, creative process or inspirations. We ask a related question of our readers and hope you'll leave comments! As an incentive we offer a free prize each week to bribe you to use that keyboard. The following week we choose a random winner.

Last week's winner is My Life Under the Bus! Congratulations! You have won pewter reproduction button from Lynn. Send an email to Lynn and she will send it right out to you.

Welcome to the Studio of Cindy Gimbrone!

Well the flu finally caught up with us and I've spent the last month either taking care of someone with the flu or having it myself. But spring is slowly making her presence known in the Northeast so I've been spring cleaning in my office/studio.

Yup, those are bead and glass related books along with past issues of Bead and Button, Beadwork, catalogues from Vintaj, Rio Grande, Rings n Things, and just about anyone else who publishes a catalogue.

Next to my computer is my prep desk. I've just put up a pegboard for my tools. This is where I'll be putting together jewelry pieces.  I keep an antique faux wicker desk that was my maternal grandfathers next to the window.  When I was first married, it was the desk I used to work at, now it's much too small to use as my primary desk.

Now that my workspace is clear and the flu is gone,  I feel refreshed and ready to get back to creating!

Has spring come to your part of the world?  Have you done any spring cleaning?  What refreshes you?

Leave a comment below and you'll be entered to win one (1) of my new Faux Wood Heart Headpins!

I don't know if Spring is actually here near Baltimore, but yesterday was gorgeous and warm here. For the time being my "studio" is my dining room table, buy while beading yesterday afternoon I could feel the warm breeze lightly blowing throught the windows and hear the birds tweeting. It made me stare at some gorgeous green beads I just got and wonder what I could do with them. Green is Spring to me!

Look at all those books! I'm a collector of book too, much to the dismay of my husband. What a great studio you have. I love that you kept your grandfahter's beautiful desk.

Spring comes here in small doses. Just last week it snowed. I'd love to get out in the garden and dig in the dirt but don't have the time. Spring Cleaning?? I need to do it, but never feel like it.

Enjoy your weekend!

Your work space looks so inviting, clean and bright. Mine is still dark and dingy. Maybe today if the sun stays out. Great headpins.

I am so glad there is someone with more books and magazines than me. Yours are way more organized though, but I am working on it. Love the headpins.

I live in San Diego, where it is eternally either spring or summer, so I consider myself pretty lucky. Cleaning? hahahahahahahaha. no.

Spring has sprung in Far West Texas and we all have the allergies to prove it, LOL. My creativity has been below nothing this last month. No Muse visits in a while. Filed my taxes and hoping that will give me a creative kick in the behind.

Good luck everyone the headpins are divine.

Spring is just starting to appear here in Manchester (UK), although now I have said that she will surely disappear!! We've had a couple of lovely sunny days, and I haven't worn my winter coat for a week now....exciting stuff! I just love it so much when the weather turns, I think I get a touch of S.A.D. because everything just seems a little easier when it is sunny outside. Love your wicker desk!

I just began the spring cleaning process yesterday and plan to keep at it all next week . . . with beading breaks as needed, of course. I'm most excited about ending up with an nicely organized work space like yours. Wish me luck -- I'm going to need it! =D

That a beautiful wall of books. There are few things as comforting as a big pile of inspirational books.

A sure sign of spring is new growth in the perennial garden, and some herbs that made it thru the winter here in PA. We had a day that reached 80 last week, but a return to reality now. That's ok, ' looking forward to being outdoors with our new rescue mini-schnauzer and the inspiration that spring brings. Happy Spring and Happy Beading everyone!

Spring is definately on its way to Vancouver Island in B.C. Robins are showing up in the backyard and crocuses are up. Thank you for sharing your studio with us. Proves that artists can be organized.

The first flowers are making their appearance in the Pacific Northwest. I made a floral arrangement yesterday with ornamental cherry branches and forsythia. So happy to see flowers again and hear bird song!

I'd let things get out of hand and my New Year's resolution was to de-clutter my studio and home. It is an on-going project! Your studio looks calm and peaceful!

Spring Fever has hit my "studio" (spare room shared with baby granddaughter, when she is here :-) as well, Cindy! Reading of your bout with the flu struck home, too... We were hit here pretty hard, with extended family all involved (Dad next door and granddaughter two days a week here), it took us almost two months to feel completely well! A couple of days ago I totally reorganized my work space with the help of my hubby (to move that heavy work bench!) and definitely feel like getting back into the creative mode! Thanks to your inspiration in this post--I will persevere!

Spring is coming around here :) I'm in the process of cleaning things out, but I've been so sick lately that it's hard! I think I will be feeling very refreshed though if I accomplish it :)

I'm so jealous of all those books, my collection is about 1/16th of that so far. And you have a nice big studio I'm trying to move this summer so I can have one too. I'm desperate for one, right now it's the kitchen table.

It sure feels like Spring has sprung her in southwest PA. We've had some milder weather, and I raked out the flower beds this past weekend. The lilies look anxious to grow! I feel refreshed looking at the flower beds, ready to grow & bloom!
Related to jewelry making, I always feel refreshed when I buy new beads (who doesn't?) and winning free ones is even better! Thanks for a chance to win one of your fabulous looking headpins!

I'd love to have a nice spacious studio like this. However, for the time being I will have to make do with the kitchen table!! Lol

I admire and covet your airy and orderly studio. The bottom line is organization, right? I am making you my model and muse. I've plenty of spring here in Tennessee, and don't you find that to be a great inspiration for your spring jewelry projects? Now if I could just find all my lovely findings!! OK, if I start cleaning up my act today, maybe I could make room for those lovely and striking headpins, hope, hope!
